Email communications during the Holiday Season - December 24 to January 1

  • The staff will only be reviewing emails on:  December 29 & 30 

  • It may take up to 14 business days for emails to be reviewed by the front desk staff.

  • January 2 the office will resume regular hours for reviewing emails. 

To allow availability for Urgent Health Care needs over the Holiday Season, Acton Medical & Urgent Care will be operating as a WALK-IN Clinic ONLY from December 24 to January 1. Patients will be seen IN-OFFICE ONLY, on a 1st come - 1st seen basis and the phones will NOT be answered. If you need to be assessed during this time, please see our Hours for the Holiday Season

  • Central Ontario Regional Urgent Care Appointment Booking Portal: A regional Virtual Urgent Care Program that is available to residents (6 months and older) in the central region of Ontario who require timely access to a nurse practitioner for urgent non-life-threatening conditions that can be addressed virtually.​ The virtual care clinic is open 7 days a week from 1pm to 9pm (including holidays).

​​​​​Instructions for Email Communications with Acton Medical & Urgent Care:

1. Email is no longer being used to book appointments, if you are looking to book an appointment for after

January 1 please use any of the following options to do so:​​

Monday - Thursday 9am-12pm & 2pm-5pm, Friday 9am-11am

2. ALL Emails MUST include all of the following in the subject line of the email:

- patient's name (as it appears on their Health Card)

- date of birth

- phone number

3. Do not send duplicate emails and if you call the office after sending an email for the same reason, inform the receptionist of this - duplicate communication is unnecessary, time consuming and confusing. 

4. Do not email the office for Medication Renewals:  Contact your pharmacy and have your pharmacy fax 519-853-5242 the office a request for the medication renewal.

​​5. Emails are received and reviewed by the office staff and they will attempt to respond promptly to your

email; however due to the high volume of emails received the office cannot guarantee that any particular email will be read and/or responded to within that period of time. Thus, email is NOT to be used for medical emergencies or other time-sensitive matters.

6. Emails are received and reviewed by the office staff.  Email communications containing medical questions and/or medical information, diagnosis, treatment etc. may be added/printed/transcribed to the patient’s medical chart. 

 

7. Please be aware that when you sign a consent with a third party who is requesting your records, such as insurance companies and lawyers; many third parties are now including a request for emails, when they are requesting patient records from medical offices. 

8. This email is for the intended purpose of communications of a medical nature with Acton Medical and Urgent Care Staff.  Emails outside of this nature….jokes, funny pictures etc. will be deleted.
